Acueducto (Aqua-ducere: agua – conducir)

Visitar el acueducto de Segovia para muchos significa un viaje especial con la ilusión

de llegar a ver el majestuoso Acueducto romano que pasa por la ciudad de Segovia. Para mi suerte, vivo al lado de él. El Acueducto de Segovia nace a quince kilómetros de la ciudad y pasa por paisajes fuera de este mundo. Para mi se ha vuelto un punto de referencia cuando necesito saber distancias o para volver a casa, el lugar donde me encuentro con mis amigos y sobre todo la vista que siempre me llena de emocio’n cuando vuelvo a Segovia de algún paseo, es lo que me confirma el haber llegado a casa otra vez.

El Acueducto fue construido en las épocas romanas en el primer siglo después de Cristo. En su parte monumental podemos todavía observar 750 metros de Acueducto a una altura de 28,5 metros.

Personalmente, lo que más me gusta del Acueducto es su iniciación en las montañas además de disfrutarlo en mi día a día de camino a la universidad. Desde la Sierra de Guadarrama se pueden ver vistas de todo el valle y de la ciudad de Segovia desde otra perspectiva preciosa.  Lo recomiendo fuertemente para los amantes de paisajes y sobre todo quienes disfrutan de pasear por las montañas.

Para quienes se atrevan a subir las escaleras del Acueducto se puede apreciar un ángulo más del Acueducto desde donde se pueden ver mejor los arcos. ¿Sabían que el Acueducto tiene 167 arcos?

The illusion of seeing the majestic Roman Aqueduct that passes through the city of Segovia is what drives thousands of tourists per day to plan a special trip here, and I’m lucky enough to live right next to it. Segovia’s Aqueduct begins fifteen

kilometers away from the city and the views you see from it are out of this world. It has become a point of reference for me whenever I need to calculate distances or to know how to get home, the place where I meet my friends at and most importantly the sight that always fills me when I’m back from any trip, its what gives me the confirmation I’ve finally arrived home.

The Aqueduct was built in Roman Times during the first century after Christ. The monumental part of the Aqueduct is 750 meters long and 28.5 meters high.

Other than enjoying the sights of the Aqueduct every day whilst walking to university, I personally like the Aqueduct’s initiation in the mountains. You can see beautiful landscapes from Sierra de Guadarrama of the whole valley and the city of Segovia from a gorgeous perspective. I highly recommend it for landscape lovers and most importantly for those who enjoy hiking.

For those who want to see yet another angle of the Aqueduct, you can walk up the stairs and enjoy a better view of the arcs. Did you know the Aqueduct has 167 arcs?
