Jóvenes Embajadores de Segovia

Es obvio que toda la población nativa danesa tiene como primera lengua el danés. Aunque el inglés no es la lengua oficial, es también uno de los idiomas más importantes y que aparentemente todo el mundo comprende y maneja. Pero el problema llega, por ejemplo, cuando vienes desde España y te  lanzas a la aventura de ir a hacer la compra aquí.  Cuando te enfrentas a tu primera etiqueta pueden darse dos casos: solo encuentras traducción a lenguas nórdicas o, si tienes suerte, algo en inglés. Es caótico.

Es por ello que me sorprendió tantísimo encontrar una academia aquí que enseñara español. FOF es una academia en Aarhus que ofrece alrededor de 3000 cursos y conferencias cada año, entre las que “Segovia ilumina el cielo” ahora forma parte.

Concerté un encuentro con algunos de los alumnos de español en niveles superiores y charlamos durante unas horas acerca del proyecto Jóvenes Embajadores y sobre Segovia. Me recibieron con los brazos abiertos. Algunos de ellos ya habían visitado algunas ciudades de España ¡e incluso uno había probado ya el cochinillo! Me encantó el interés que tenían por la ciudad y por su historia y cultura.

Ha sido una semana cargada de emociones. Me he llevado tan buenas sensaciones de estas acciones que ya estoy nerviosa por ver qué más se viene. Os seguiré contando.

It’s obvious that the native Danish population will have Danish as their first language. Although English is not an official language in Denmark, it’s also one of the most important languages and apparently one that almost everyone manages to understand. But the problem comes, for instance, when you have just arrived from Spain and you begin your adventure grocery shopping here. When you face your first label there are two possible instances: you only find a translation into Nordic languages or, if you are lucky, something would be in English. It’s chaos.

This is why I was very surprised when I found an academy here that teaches Spanish. FOF is an academy in Aarhus that offers around 3000 courses and talks per year, and “Segovia ilumina desde el cielo” is now among them.

I set up a meeting with some Spanish students and we talked for a few hours about the Young Ambassadors project and about Segovia. Everybody made me feel very welcome. Some of them had already visited some cities in Spain and even one of them had tasted “cochinillo”! I loved the interest they had in the city and its history and culture.

It has been an emotionally charged week. I had such good feelings with these actions that I am already nervous for what is coming next. To be continued!!
