Jóvenes Embajadores de Segovia

Las últimas semanas han sido de inmersión en la cultura navideña de Aarhus. Y es que la navidad empezó casi antes que Halloween. A finales de octubre se empezaron a decorar todas las tiendas y se encendieron las luces de navidad de las calles. En el fondo estoy encantada, ¡voy a disfrutar de casi dos meses y medio de navidades en total! En Aarhus ahora y en Segovia en cuanto que vuelva.

Anualmente y desde 1990, el primer viernes de noviembre a las 21pm, las calles de Dinamarca se llenan de gente con gorros azules para celebrar “J-Dag” y el lanzamiento de la Tuborg Julebryg.  “Jul” se traduce por navidad y la palabra “dag” por día, lo que convierte J-Dag en el día oficial de la cerveza navideña. Como dato curioso, aunque solo está en el mercado durante diez semanas, es la cuarta cerveza más vendida de Dinamarca.

Den Gamle By es uno de esos lugares únicos en los que disfrutar de la experiencia navideña. Es un  museo al aire libre que consiste en 75 edificios históricos daneses construidos entre 1600 y 1970. En esta época del año no solo puedes disfrutar de la decoración típica original sino también de la navideña con la apertura de “Jule i Den Gamle By” (navidad en la antigua ciudad). Una increíble atmósfera de mercados de navidad y gente disfrazada de 1860, 1920 y 1970, por lo que puedes experimentar de dónde provienen las tradiciones y cómo se han desarrollado a lo largo de la historia.

Este fin de semana he estado también en Tivoli. Es un parque de atracciones en el centro de Aarhus, situado en el bosque Marseliesbotg que lleva abierto desde 1900. Al igual que en Den Gamble By, puedes encontrar casetas en las que venden uno de los dulces más típicos de la navidad, æbleskiver, o glög, el vino nórdico caliente navideño. 

Lo único que me queda por probar es la pista de hielo en la Casa de la Música y los dos mercados navideños, uno al aire libre y otro mercado cerrado que se llama Julemarked i Ridehuset (el más famoso), aunque tendré que esperar hasta mediados de diciembre.

The last weeks have been based on culturally immersing myself in Christmas in Aarhus. The thing is that Christmas almost began before Halloween. At the end of October, all the shops started to be decorated and the Christmas street lights were switched on. Deep inside I am delighted, I’m going to enjoy almost two and a half months of Christmas in total! Aarhus right now and Segovia when I come back.

Annually since 1900, the first Friday of November at 9pm, the streets of Denmark are filled with crowds of people dressed up with Tuborg-blue coloured Santa hats to celebrate “J-Dag” and the “Tuborg Julebryg” launch. ‘Jule’ means Christmas and the word ‘dag’ is ‘day’, thus J-Dag means  ‘Christmas Brew Day”. A curious fact; although this beer is only sold for ten weeks of the year, it’s the fourth best selling beer in Denmark.

Den Gamle By is one of those unique places you must go enjoy the Christmas experience. It’s an open air museum consisting of 75 Danish historical buildings built between 1600 and 1970. At this time of year you can’t just enjoy the original typical decoration but also the Christmas ones with the opening of “Jule i Den Gamle By” (Christmas in the Old Town). It’s an amazing atmosphere of Christmas markets and people dressed up from the 1860s, 1920s and 1970s, so you can experience where traditions have come from and their development over time!

This weekend I have also been to Tivoli. It’s a theme park in Aarhus centre,  located in Marselisborg Forest, that has been open since 1900. As with Den Gamle By, you can find lots of stands with the most typical Christmas sweets, such as æbleskiver, or glög, the nordic warm Christmas wine.

Of this Danish Christmas immersion, the last thing I have to try is the ice skating rink next to the Musikhuset and the two Christmas markets that take place in December -the first one open air and the latest indoors, called Julemarked i Ridehuset (the most famous one)
